Anoka Conservation District, Critical Connections Ecological Services and the MN Landscape Arboretum recently secured a DNR permit to salvage rare plants from a development site and transplant into an adjacent protected wetland in Lino Lakes.
We plan to salvage plants, wash roots, and plant into one meter plots within the protected Woolan’s Park which is near the development site.
You will most likely save 300 plants each!
Please mark your calendar for rare plant rescue on Tuesday June 30th. 8:30 – 2:00, or leave when you need to.
Meet at Lino Lakes Elementary School at 8:30 or call me if you show up later.
Please RSVP to me @ Carrie.Taylor@AnokaSWCD.org
Bring your own drinking water and your own gloves and clean trowel if you have them. (Tools need to be clean so that we don’t introduce weeds. I’ll also have several boot brushes.)
I’ll have clean trowels, gloves, nitrile gloves, knee pads, hand wipes, trays.
We will have space to work 6 feet apart but I understand if you choose to sit this one out. There will be future opportunities
