COLLECT NATIVE PRAIRIE SEED

Friday Sept. 13th 1:00 – 4:00pm

Join Anoka Conservation District Staff to collect native prairie seed. Seed will be used at local prairie restoration sites.

Meet at the ACD office: 1318 McKay Drive NE to caravan to the collection site.

  VOLUNTEER TO TRANSPLANT RARE LANCE LEAVED VIOLETS

Friday Sept. 20th 9:00am

Join Anoka Conservation District, Landscape Arboretum, City of Blaine, and Critical Connections Ecological Services Staff to transplant rare lance leaved violets into the protected Blaine Wetland Sanctuary. Violets were salvaged from a permitted construction site in Blaine. This is a new program and first ever MN DNR permit for rare plant propagation. Lance leaved violets will be monitored to determine the transplanting effectiveness.

 BUCKTHORN ID AND CONTROL WORKSHOP

Wednesday Sept. 25th 6:00 – 8:00pm. Learn to identify common and glossy buckthorn and other invasive species and learn treatment methods.
