Make plans now to attend one of the two (or both!) Aqua Chautauqua Festivals this year! Modeled after the Chautauquas of the old days, these outdoor events blend science, art, and history in ways to engage and educate attendees about Minnesota’s rich water resources.
This year’s focus is on the Otter Tail River Watershed, and two festivals will be held in the watershed:
- Fergus Falls on June 23 (10am-1pm
- Detroit Lakes on August 9 (4pm-7pm)
Activities are hands-on and interactive. A few examples: step up to indulge in a flight of water from The Water Bar, get your hands wet and dirty in the stream simulator, or watch and discuss a documentary on Lumbering and Logging on the Otter Tail River. For more information, follow Extension’s Water Resources Team on Facebook!
Want to be a volunteer at the Fergus Falls event? We need helpers for a variety of positions, including “water tenders” at the Water Bar, photographers, set up and teardown help, and more. Sign up here!
