Dakota County Parks Natural Resources team conducts restoration work, wildlife surveys, vegetation surveys, and more. The team is also very invested in volunteer stewardship and citizen science initiatives.
This summer we are starting a new program – dragonfly surveys at Lebanon Hills Regional Park, in Eagan. This is an ongoing opportunity, which means we are asking volunteers to commit to monthly 2 hour surveys from May-October. I imagine there are MN Master Naturalists in the Twin Cities metro/Dakota County area that would be eager to participate in this citizen science initiative!
Attached is a document describing the opportunity, as well as the volunteer website where folks can get more information and sign up. The required volunteer training is in early May, which is fast approaching!
