State Fair Volunteer Opportunity

The Eco Experience building at the state fair this summer is currently opening volunteer sign-up for our Nature Play Area, which is an exciting collaboration of the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, Fireflies Play Environments, Landscape Renovations, and Crows Nest Design.

The Nature Play exhibit is an open-ended, creative, and beautiful adventure playground that encourages children to build structures, tear them down, take calculated risks, and learn problem solving skills. Kids become engineers, scientists, planners, and architects. Meanwhile, their families are inspired to include more nature play in their lives at home!

We are reaching out to organizations that center environmental education and nature play to get involved at the Eco Experience this year. Nature play volunteers commit to one 3- or 4-hour shift and are responsible for engaging with families, ensuring safety, and basic daily opening/closing routine.

Volunteers will receive a ticket to the Minnesota state fair and an Eco Experience t-shirt (unless they choose to wear a shirt representing their organization). During a shift, volunteers will also have the opportunity to distribute a flyer with information about their organization. If an organization claims a whole day of shifts, we will print their logo on the nature play entry sign.

Shifts are from 9 AM-1 PM, 1-5 PM, and 5-8 PM during August 24-September 4.
