Cedar Creek Ecosystem Science Reserve upcoming events

Happy June! And Happy World Environment Day! It’s a beautiful day here at Cedar Creek, and I’m excited to share with you the first draft of our full summer of public outreach events! More details about these events will be available on the Cedar Creek website (cedarcreek.umn.edu/upcoming events) and facebook page (@CedarCreekESR) shortly, and additional events focused on our research experiments will be added as the summer goes on. We’ve got a little bit of everything between now and fall – workshops on specific topics like limnology, climate change, and tree identification, guided hikes focused on our local plants and animals, an astronomy event and a family Story Walk, and even a full afternoon focused on our oak savannas! It’s going to be a grand adventure culminating in a celebration of our 75th anniversary in September. We hope you can join us for one or more of these events!

The summer edition of Field Notes is slightly behind schedule because of our busy education season, but it will be in your inboxes and mailboxes by July 1st. In the meantime, mark your calendars with the events listed below and come visit us!
If you have questions, would like to RSVP for an event, or notice that I’ve left off your favorite topic – please don’t hesitate to email me. I look forward to spending time outdoors with you at Cedar Creek this summer!
