The MN Master Naturalist program bringing advanced classes of Citizen Science classes to this audiences throughout the State. The only difference from a person who observes nature like a naturalist, and a phenologist, is that the phenologist records what they see. The National Phenological Network’s, Nature’s Notebook website, is an ideal way to engage folks into looking closer to the natural world around them, igniting their inborn sense of wonder.
The study of phenology encourages lifelong learning about all that goes on around oneself in the outdoors. This time of the year the outdoors is a kaleidoscope of colors and movements as the plants and animals awaken from winter. Each of natural events that are happening in response to longer day lengths, warmer temperatures, and spring showers make up the phenology calendar!
